for Christmas on Christmas morning I got an iPad mini 3  it is so good and has lots of good games I like it alot. I also think is a very creative way to Share data that you already bought/have.  some people way older than me might need to not want to buy a get/ game again. There I was standing right in front of my favorite food place. Buffalo Wild Wings is also  known as BW3's. Or at least that's what my dad and I call it So we went inside asa waitress seated us at an outdoor table. It was very fun looking at the menu because the wings menu was the best.

I have always loved spending time with my dad. My dad is really fun. We always do really fun stuff. We go to Michigan State football games in East Lansing. We go bowling at Thunderbird Lanes. One time, I was at a tailgate for MSU football before the MSU-Purdue game. I knew MSU was going to win. I was playing touch football with my dad, my brother Drew, who was in 4th grade, and Wes, my hyper four year old little brother. Wes reminds me of me when I was his age. 

I went out for a pass. I looked up and saw my dad waving for me to go deep. I know a lot of pass routes, so I decided to do the old stop and go route. I ran ten yards down the grass right next to the chemistry building on MSU’s campus. They have a really big field where a lot of people tailgate. 

I looked up and saw my dad waving the ball. I knew he was going to go deep to me. I run fast, and my brother Drew was covering me. I saw the ball coming, and knew I had to somehow reach around Drew to snag this ball. My dad threw a perfect spiral. I could see the white stripes of the ball contrast with the solid green flying toward me. I thought, “Just jump! Jump, jump. Jump over his head and catch it.”

I reached up with both hands and had my index fingers connected in a pyramid shape.  the ball landed perfectly in the sweet spot between my palms. I had it! Drew collapsed at my feet and desperately lunged for my ankles, but he couldn’t catch me. Wes was the only guy between me and a touchdown. The end zone was marked by two identical green bushes. I was sprinting toward the end zone, but couldn’t resist the urge to mock my brothers. I held the ball behind me like Marshawn Lynch from the Seattle Seahawks. I lifted my left foot in the air and held the ball behind me as I glided into the end zone untouched.

My dad immediately came running to the end zone and right then we knew what to do. I motioned to him my tapping my shoulder and it was side bump time. We both jumped up in the air at the same time and bumped sides. My dad is 6’1” tall, and about 195 pounds. He almost knocked me over. “Let’s go!” my dad said.

I couldn’t resist the urge to mock my brothers again. I dusted off each off my shoulders in a gesture that meant, “You can’t touch me.”

Sometimes these memories come back to me when I am at different places with my dad. What I like best about being with my dad is that he always has a smile on his face, which puts a smile on my face as well. He helps me calm down by rubbing my back when I’m upset or mad and tells me, “It’s okay, Jake.”

 There were all sorts of flavors and seasonings and the menu at BW3’s went from "Smiling" to "Sizzling" to "Burning" and finally "Blazing". My dad said that he had eaten Blazing and it was very spicy.  He ate 6 blazing wings before. I couldn't believe my ears. I asked him as a joke,

"Were you drunk when you were eating the wings? I mean, because they are really hot!!!" I thought he must have gone crazy to eat them.

He laughed and said "No, but when I was eating, the Blazing wings were so hot they tasted horrible!!"

I think my dad is blazing. A blazing, amazing dad.

2014 Reflections

Racism

If I had one chance my ENTIRE LIFE to change something in the world I would probably choose racism... 

Just because you have a different skin color doesn't mean you are different or should be treated differently. Because you are born with it and you can't help it or change it, All over the news it always  says some person got bullied,threatend, insulted, hurt or even KILLED because what skin color you are. Like that new story about Donald Sterling the Clippers owner said racist comments to his girlfriend and threatend her over what kind of skin color she is, I feel like people can be so stupid sometimes. And then about two weeks later Donald Sterling says he is a not a racist and he is innocent. It makes me sooooo mad and like my friend Fawaz Ahmed he is writing about stuff like this to. Fawaz is a good friend even though he is a different skin color then me doesn't mean I treat him different AT ALL. Another example Xavier Ervin is one of my best friends, he is not my skin color but I am still really good friends with him. Also Donald Sterling said the most stupidest thing he said "I am not used to this, I grew up where there is lots of racism and I am used to whites and blacks not sitting or eating together. I really don't know how to change at all because I grew up in this." That is just stupid he may have grown up in it doesn't mean it is still that way ALOT has changed over all the years and I think people like Donald Sterling can change too. There is no reason to treat people with different skin color differnt.

"What are you going to do huh?" My name is Graham, Graham Timothy Feller I am 14 years old. I don't have much talent, I get bullied about every day, but whatever. "Leave me alone you jerk!" I yelled, about every school in the whole wide world always has a school bully at my school, Coving High school the bully at our school is obviously Adam Kenneth.

I am in math right now,  probably my worst subject, I sit there until it's my turn to come up. We are doing a math project where you are supposed to go home and make a presentation about math. "Graham get up here!" yelled my math teacher Mr. Hoff "Should I start? I asked "When ever your ready" he said "Okay, what I did is I went home and...." I was very nervous to say it, thinking other kids would make fun of me.

 I just said it "And I made a song..." I said. The whole classroom exploded with laughter I heard someone yell out "Are you kidding me?" and then I could hear Mr.Hoff scream "You, made a song?" he said it cracking up. All I did was drop my work and run to the bath room. My best friend Charlie Howard runs into the bathroom "Dude..." He sighs "I'm sorry..." "It's fine I'm just glad you didn't laugh." I say gladly "You gotta be kidding... me....laughing....at you?" he says "Yo, I would never laugh at you, I would only laugh wit you."

"Thanks" I say sighing. He helps me up I wipe the tears from my face "Yo... I got your back" he says high fiving me.

I am reading a book called Divergent it is pretty good from what I heard...

\In a post-apocalyptic Chicago, survivors divide into five factions based on their dispositions: Abnegation, for the selfless; Amity, for the peaceful; Candor, for the honest; Dauntless, for the brave; and Erudite, for the intellectual. Each year, all sixteen-year-olds must take an aptitude test that describes the one faction for which they are best suited. After receiving the results, they can decide whether to remain with their family's faction or transfer to a new faction. Those who do not complete initiation into their new faction become "Factionless", and are forced to live in poverty on the streets of the city.
Sixteen-year-old Beatrice Prior is born into an Abnegation family. She doesn't feel like she belongs in Abnegation, because she doesn't see herself as naturally selfless. Her aptitude test also supports this, inconclusively indicating aptitude for three factions: Abnegation, Erudite, and Dauntless. The tester warns her to never share this fact, as it makes her a Divergent. Before the Choosing Day, she agonizes over whether to stay in Abnegation to satisfy her parents, or whether she should change to another faction. On Choosing Day, Beatrice decides to leave Abnegation and join Dauntless, while her brother Caleb chooses Erudite. Their Dauntless instructor, Four, explains that not all the dauntless initiates will enter the Dauntless faction; only the top ten will stay while the rest will be dismissed and become factionless. This is unusual as most factions allow everyone who completes initiation to enter the faction. During her initiation into the new faction, Beatrice renames herself Tris. During the initiation, she befriends some transfer initiates — Christina, Al, and Will — while coming into conflict with others — Peter, Drew and Molly.

The Willis (or Sears) Tower, one of the several landmarks Roth describes within the post-apocalyptic Chicago that is the setting within the novel.

Initiation is broken into three stages. The first involves learning how to handle guns and knives as well as engaging in hand-to-hand combat with the other initiates. Despite being physically weaker than most of her fellow initiates, Tris finishes the stage in sixth place by beating Molly, who is ranked fairly high. Once the rankings are announced, Peter (who came second) is jealous of the first-place finisher, Edward, and, under cover of night, Peter stabs Edward in the eye with a butter knife. During the parent visiting day, Tris realizes that her mother originally grew up in Dauntless. Meanwhile, Erudite stirs dissent against Abnegation leadership in the city government. The Erudite's reports accuse Abnegation's leader, Marcus, of abusing his son, who joined Dauntless two years before. Reports vilify Tris' parents because both their children switched factions, and falsely claim Abnegation is hoarding supplies. During the same period, Tris befriends some Dauntless-born initiates, including Uriah, Lynn, and Marlene.
Stage two involves simulations, similar to the aptitude tests, which force the initiates to face scenarios symbolic of their fears. Because Tris is Divergent, she recognizes that she is under a simulation while others do not, and can work the simulations to her advantage. Tris was ranked first. Peter, Drew, and Al attack Tris, threaten sexual assault, and attempt to throw her into the chasm at Dauntless headquarters, but Four intervenes. Later, Al begs Tris's forgiveness, but she rebuffs him, and he later commits suicide.
The final stage of their initiation is a fear landscape, which gathers all of their fears in a single simulation. In the fear landscape, all of them, Divergent or not, will be aware that they are under a simulation and must use the skills they learned in the previous stages to overcome each fear. While preparing for this stage, Tris's relationship with Four continues to grow, and he lets her into his own fear landscape. Tris learns that Four only has four fears in his landscape, a record, hence his nickname. She also learns his real name, Tobias, and that his father is Marcus, the very Abnegation leader who Erudites accuse of physically abusing him during his childhood. Four later shares with Tris information he has discovered about the Erudite's plans to use the Dauntless to stage an attack on the Abnegation.
Tris successfully overcomes six fears in her fear landscape. After her test, Tris, along with all other Dauntless members, is injected with a new "tracking" serum that is supposedly only activated if someone goes missing. Before the official initiation ceremony, Four invites Tris back to his private apartment, and Tris expresses her feelings for him. Soon, the ceremony begins, the final rankings are posted, and Tris discovers she has been ranked first. In the midst of celebrating, though, she suddenly realizes that the Erudite will use the "tracking" serum to force Dauntless members to carry out their plans of invading the Abnegation.

A junction on the Chicago 'L', one of the train systems operating in modern Chicago. Throughout the novel, the Dauntless demonstrate their fearlessness by jumping on and off trains traveling throughout the city.

During the night following the ceremony, the serum induces a simulation and all of the Dauntless become sleep-walking soldiers ordered to attack the Abnegation compound. The serum does not work on Tris or Tobias (Four) because they are both Divergent. After arriving at the Abnegation compound, Tris and Tobias try to break away from the pack to escape. However, Tris is shot, but not mortally wounded, and when Tobias refuses to leave her behind, they are captured and brought before Jeanine, the Erudite leader. She injects Four with an experimental serum, which counteracts the Divergent effect by controlling what he can see and hear. Jeanine directs Tobias to be sent back to the Dauntless control room to oversee the attack, and sentences Tris to death. Tris wakes up sealed inside a real-life glass tank that fills up with water, but her mother breaks the tank and rescues her. As they escape, her mother reveals that she is also Divergent, but while helping Tris escape, she is killed. Tris escapes but is forced to kill Will, who attacks her while under the influence of the simulation.
She finds her father, Caleb, and Marcus in the safe house, and they resolve go to the Dauntless compound to find the source of the simulation. Fighting their way through Dauntless headquarters, Tris' father sacrifices himself to clear the way for Tris to reach the control room. When she confronts the mind-controlled Tobias, he attacks Tris. In the fight, Tris realizes she cannot bring herself to kill him, and surrenders, causing Tobias to break through the special sight-and-sound-only simulation. Freed, Tobias helps Tris shut down the Erudite simulation and free the remaining Dauntless from their mind control. They rejoin Caleb and Marcus, as well as Peter, who had helped Tris find the control room in exchange for his safety. The group then boards a train to the Amity sector to find the rest of the Abnegation survivors, leading to the events described in Insurgent.

I think that YouTube is a great way of showing videos to the world also I think YouTube is a funny, serious and athletic video gallery. You can make videos by hitting the "Upload" button and then your video will be public and free to people to look at well if you make "Private" then it won't be public and you can give people permission to look at what you have recorded. Also you can go into certain types of categories like for example you can put a video into a section like "Comedy, Sports or Entertainment." YouTube is by far my favorite place to look at videos, I think you should check YouTube out. I think you will like it!!!!

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS


I went to fnl it was very fun and cool. I saw a bunch of my friends there some that went to my school and some that went to derby or Berkshire there were other middle schools besides Covington  Berkshire and derby but those were some of the main middle schools it was one of the best parts of starting school. Anyways, I mainly just hung out with Riley cook, Sam goodman, fawaz Ahmed and some other people.

There was a gym with dodgeball and basketball also there was a room called the game room where there is ping pong fuze ball and there were game systems like a ps3 and xbox 1. My class for next year is pretty good. And I have pretty good 5th graders entering it. Also I don't know most of the 5th graders I feel that next year is a good opportunity to make some new friends. All of the 5th graders that I had this year in my class are going into 6th grade with me. Me and them are going to be the "6th grade leaders" as mr.joe says can't wait for next year!!!

Literary essay Final draft

Story: A Short Life
Author: Adam Bagdasarian
Claim: William is to worried about death

Have you ever worried about dieing? I mean, because it happens every 12 seconds to SOMEONE. It is sort of scary, but you shouldn't be that worried. But you should just be careful and watch out. In the  story A Short Life by Adam Bagdasarian, William worries and is very safe cautious from death.

William is be super cautious and safe because he had one problem, DEATH. He is on the lookout for symptoms and one day he comes to find a lump on his head and he suspects it to be a tumor according to a television show he had watched about a perfect boy who was captain of the football team and had a very pretty girl friend then he felt really dizzy and then fainted a couple of hours later he died.

After William saw that show he was scared.  He knew he only had a couple of weeks left to live. He then starts to feel bad about his self and thinks he is nothing. But all of a sudden he comes to think of the "tumor" on his head and starts not to worry and just talk to himself and say it is a bump on his head and it's not a tumor and he is not worried. And is back to normal, then he thinks what if it is a tumor? What if I CAN die?

William finally is so stressed about the bump or even tumor on his head he goes to his mom to have her inspect it. When William walks into the room and his mother feels his head and his mom said "It is your head William that is no tumor it is just your head!!" William was surprised, "Really?" Asked William, "Yeah!" Said his mom. And when he was walking out of his moms room he starts to feel numbness on  his finger, then the whole thing starts all over again.

So next time you feel a lump or numbness on your body don't freak out because probably 87% of the time it is normal. And don't be Sooo worried because it is probably not a tumor so don't worry be NORMAL.

I just started playing online mode, and it is super fun!! You should definitely get the basketball video game NBA 2k 14!!

What was the authors message? Which story events helped you figure out the message?


I think the message is just because you have a different skin color doesn't mean you are different or should be treated differently. I think the evidence from the book was when he joined the slave ship. Some examples from the slave ship are:

1. Daniel and the rest if the slaves have different beds from the white skin people. I do not think that is fair at all, I mean different beds? You should at LEAST let the slaves sleep in nice beds!!

2. And ONE of the worst parts were when the captain accused him of taking the notes and he said "I did not take them." And then the captain slapped him because he said that! First of all you really have NO reason to slap him, all he said is "I did not take them." I don't see how it gives you a reason to slap him. If I was the guy who slapped him I would have believed him that he did not take them!!

Instagram is a good way to show what's going on in your life say you were going to the X games and see awesome and awesome Doubleback flip and your like oh my God I have to get a picture of that. So what you do, is you get your phone take a picture of it then  go to the camera button and then select the photo that you took whatever you wanted and then you pick the filter and then you post it. Adam silver bans Donald sterling over racist comments.

Adam Silver is a NBA commissioner. Donald Sterling is NBAa coach for the Los Angeles Clippers. Donald Sterling is $2.5 million and banned  from the NBA.  That was after saying racist comments about his girlfriend. Magic Johnson and other people like Mark Cuban say the silver showed great leadership banning Donald Sterling from the NBA. I think that he also showed great leadership and if I were Adam Silver I would've done the same thing.

Easter

Easter is my second favorite holiday next to Christmas I like Easter because you get candy and you celebrate the Christian holiday if you're not Christian you can still celebrate the holiday like going to a realitves house or eating candy. today I went to my grandmas house at my grandmas house, we watch the Tigers game and the Red Wings game ever played a lot of sports outside like wiffleball and football and baseball I love those games!

Pancakes

This morning I had pancakes and I LOVED them. 11 pancakes, some fruit, and some orange juice! Also I had Log Cabin syrup, it is real syrup with less fat and calories. My family sang happy birthday to me I was very excited to start my day with happiness! Penny board



I love my new Penny board. It has way more control and balance also a lot of speed! I like penny boarding with my friends and my brother. It is pretty fun to skateboard once you get the hang of it. So        if you see someone else skateboarding you should try it! It is really fun!

Michigan State is kicked out of the NCAA bracket they lost to UConn. It was a close game but they were all hogging the ball not passing and not working as a team I don't think they deserve to win I would like them to win but they did not. Coach Kevin Ollie was very surprised that they won because Michigan State is a number four seed and they are number seven seed. On uconns side of  the ball they worked very well passing shooting well and also having good Sportsmanship Unlike center Adrian Payne stomping  his feet after Denzel Valentine did not pass to him when he was "wide open".  
I hope Michigan State will have a better year next year and it to the final four and even the championship!

Elite Eight NCAA Tournament Bracket


The NCAAS Bracket has a round called elite 8. The Elite 8 is my favorite round in the whole NCAA Bracket. I also think that the elite eight is the NCAA's best roundbecause it has the most exciting games and and I like it because of the name, "Elite 8". there are many more rounds included to that NCAA bracket like the national championship ane the final four but this is my favorite round because all the exciting games happen and I love that name!

my birthday is one of the most important parts of my life. I love getting presents and spending time with my family that is very important. I like face it is a good way to connect with your friends. I also like FaceTime because you can go on it and see what's going on in your friends and familys life. You could also do very cool things like use it to do homework with a friend or just have a teacher to review a question this is just one of the many cool ways you can use face time. Snow Day

I love snow days because it has good things and bad things. Let me start out with the good things. Two of the good news is that you have a day off and you have no school no homework unless you have homework from the previous day but the bad things, are it and days to the end of the school year. But this snow day I played my PS3 and my iPad, played basketball and played out side!  So when a snow day comes like the one we had today be prepared with ideas and fun things to do or else you'll get really bored!!

Need for speed the game

Need for speed most wanted is a racing game. You can go beyond imagination and explore different places while you are driving around picking up new cool cars! Also you can hit police cars and they will chase you with roadblocks, swat cars and police vans. You can go into two different modes. One is campaign and the other is race mode. Campaign mode is where you roam around looking for cars and trying to get achievements. Race mode is a mode that allows you to race against people online or the CPU (Computer) which you are also trying to get as many achievements as possible.

Aruba

Over my mid-winter break, I went to 88 degree weather in Aruba! Aruba is a different country. Aruba is a very fun and exciting place! How is it exciting? We went on a underwater submarine that takes you to see two shipwrecks and lots of undersea wildlife. We also went on a jeep safari. It is a very bumpy ride! We were able to drive over big rocks and see the whole beautiful island! We stayed at a hotel with three pools, a water slide and a relaxing lazy river. My favorite part of the whole Aruba vacation was the jeep safari and my awesome hotel!

Pistons



I love NBA games. But out of all teams I love the pistons the most!

My old basketball coach works for the pistons. I think I go to at least two pistons game per season.

My favorite player on the pistons Andre Drummond he is a beast at dunking the ball! While the point guard, John Smith is excellent 3 points master. Rodney Stuckey is a king at lay ups. Thats what I think puts together a perfect pistons team!!

I think slavery is very unfair. I think just because you are a certain skin color you should not get treated differently! Then heroes came along and showed leadership. They took a risk and changed America. Those heroes are named Dr. Martin Luther King and Rosa Parks.  Popcorn is the best food I ever put in my mouth!

Oh how creamy, buttery and crunchy it is!
Today I ate popcorn. When I was heating it up, I could hear the delicious pops of the kernels popping.  Before I ate the popcorn, I took a long smell of the delicious and so wonderful popcorn. I took the popcorn, poured it into my bowl and prepared to devour it. I grabbed a handful of popcorn and shoved it in my mouth! And then do you know what I said? I believe that year round schools can have a benefit on students and it should happen in Michigan. 

YRS (Year Round Schools) have been present from the 1800s. YRS first appeared in urban areas, because they were not tied to the agriculture cycle. Businesses also find it easier to provide jobs on a year round basis instead of having many in the summer for students. Students who attend year-round school say that their calenders are more balanced than their peers who have a typical school calendar. YRS students typically do as well as or slightly better in school than their peers who attend a traditionally scheduled school. There is research that suggests year-round schools have positive effects on students who are at risk for academic problems, including those from underprivileged backgrounds and those who are poor performers in school. Year-round schools do not add more school days to the 180 standard academic calendar. The total number of school days and vacation days remains unchanged, but instead is redistributed throughout the year. Year round schools are also a good idea because you never have to stop working on a project in that grade!  Many of my friends argue that they get bored during summer vacations, when there is much less activity and stimulation, so attending school for a year would be a benefit to them. And last of all based on a 2013 research study by the California Department of Education, students in traditional schools had a drop out rate of 5% versus 2% for YRS.

I love basketball because all five players come together and try to win.

It is a great team sport that envolves a lot of team work.

You can play all different kinds of games with a basketball and a hoop.

Some of the games you can play are lightning, a regular basketball game and PIG. My favorite is PIG.

PIG is where one person shoots first and the other person tries to make that exact shot. If the first person misses, the second person gets to try a new shot. You can get out by missing all three of the other person's exact shots. Each time you miss the other persons exact shot you get a letter. First P, then I and finally G.

LeBRON vs KD

The Heat were up 18-2 at one point in the game but then KD started to turn on the 3s jump shots and even points in the paint. But on LeBRONs side of the court he was doing not so well. LeBRON is well known as the "The King, The King Of Basketball." But "KD" his court name is also known as his real name Kevin Durant. Both of them makes shoes and both of them are great players but it happens to be that KD is the best player and shooter in the NBA.

LeBron James and Kevin Durant are fearsome opponents but they have much respect for each other. Lebron and Kevin Durant each have their nicknames as LeBron as the King and Kevin Durant as KD.
Both of them had very high shooting percentages but as year-by-year LeBron shooting percentages have gone up. Of course Kevin Durant has a high shooting percentage I think maybe LeBron has a higher shooting only a couple points.

Delaying The Heisman Vote


Currently the Heisman voting is held before the bowls, after the conference championship game. Some people disagree. They would like for the Heisman voters to wait until after the BCS championship game. But some people say that they like it the way that it is .They say that it is possible that voters focused too much on the bowls and not enough on their entire season. I think that they should change it wait till the BCS national championship. If somebody  has 100 yards receiving and 15 dropped passes that would be called a poor performance also it would not be good for the Heisman winner also it would not make the Heisman voters look good if this was the Heisman winner.
